Position Summary

Serve as in-house social media expert. Assist in developing and implementing CMA and CMA Foundation’s day-to-day and annual event-based content marketing presence to include strategic planning, content planning, and rollout strategy. Focus on reaching, engaging and growing the current subscriber base for CMA’s consumer email list and CMA and CMA Foundation social networks. Create and execute annual strategic plans, manage content calendars, and work collaboratively with CMA Creative on the deployment and consistency of social media and email content. Responsible for measuring effectiveness of campaigns, reporting key metrics to management, and consistently monitoring and applying learnings and best practices on a regular basis. Responsible for general marketing department projects as needed.

Essential Work Functions:

  • Work with Sr. Marketing Manager to drive social media and email marketing strategy to grow
    followers and increase engagement for CMA and CMA Foundation
  • Create and maintain social media and email content calendar and collaborate with internal and
    external stakeholders to develop and execute
  • Create and curate relevant text, image and video and develop distribution plan on a weekly basis
    to engage target audiences via social networks and email list
  • Collaborate with internal CMA teams (including Marketing, Communications & Partnerships) to
    incorporate key priorities into digital marketing support plans
  • Create post-event social and email recap reports for partners, illustrating contract fulfillment
  • Provide weekly and monthly social media reports with key metrics and insights to Marketing team
  • Monitor social properties for real-time response opportunities to serve our community
  • Responsible for creating and executing fan engagement campaigns and industry programs
  • Collaborate with Creative team to ensure creative and branding consistency across all social
    channels
  • Leverage relationship with ABC social media teams to create and execute joint campaigns
    around TV events
  • Constantly monitor social environment and identify platforms where CMA and CMA Foundation need to create/develop a presence and innovate
  • Research audience preferences and discover current trends and make recommendations
  • Manage social media freelance talent as needed
  • Responsible for general administrative duties as assigned or as necessary
  • Collaborate with artist and label teams for social marketing executions

Knowledge, Education, and Experience Preferred

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communication or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years experience in the marketing or music industry field or related area
  • Thorough understanding of how to communicate effectively in a digital environment
  • Must have demonstrated ability to gather and report actionable insights from digital analytics
  • Must have experience in creating a voice and writing compelling content for the digital space
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint as well as Internet search tools
  • Photoshop and Google Analytics experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of digital music outlets and social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Pinterest required
