When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.

I am cursed with a ridiculous memory.

I work as an attorney for Sterling Sports Management where we represent professional athletes, coaches and recording artists. My experience comes from a non-traditional path to law school and the practice of law, including a 24-year business career in broadcasting, sports administration and software.

I am the proud son of two educators — one a superintendent and one among the nation’s very first special education teachers — principles of compassion, advocacy, and integrity are in my DNA. A lifelong love of learning led me to earn multiple bachelor’s degrees from The Ohio State University (Communications and Film Studies) and a passion for justice and small business advocacy drove me to earn my Juris Doctor at age 52 from Capital University Law School while attending part-time in the evenings.

I’ve lived on three continents and in five states — yet can count on one hand the home Ohio State football games I have missed since Archie was a senior. I enjoy any kind of live theatre or music, backpacking on the Appalachian Trail and playing golf or ice hockey.

My wife of 35 years, two spoiled Golden Retrievers, and our two adult children and their spouses are the best parts of my life.
