Self confidence is the first requisite to great undertakings.
— Samuel Johnson

My life has been spent studying music.  As a child, I took to the piano at an early age and studying the melodies of Bach and Beethoven.  As I grew, I also decided to start formal voice training at age 15.  There too I was immersed in classical music and musical theater, being given a solid foundation of musical training.  After spending one year at Michigan State as a classical piano performance major, I realized that becoming a classical concert pianist was not in my future.  I began listening to, and developed a love affair with, jazz.

I decided to focus my studies on jazz vocals and transferred to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.  While there, I received invaluable training in band leading, selecting song repertoire, improvisation, and business training that gave me the confidence to go out and pursue work as a performer.

Since graduation, I have worked as a jazz vocalist and specialize the the performance of Brazilian bossa nova and other styles.  I have traveled extensively throughout Brazil, performing and recording with some of the greatest musicians there.  I currently enjoy teaching and spending time with my 4 year old daughter.  I love working with my private students in my own studio as well as Groove U.  I have performed at several area festivals such as the Columbus Arts Festival, Columbus Latino Festival and clubs such as Natalie's Coal Fired Pizza and Nighttown in Cleveland, Ohio.  I have also performed regionally and in various cities in Brazil.
