I’m a member of the first graduating class of Groove U with a focus on Music Business. I work as the head booking agent for Skully's Music Diner, which was recently named best mid-size venue in Columbus and books over 250 shows a year. During my time at Groove U I founded Dilligent Promotions, a promotion company in Columbus, which focuses on booking national touring artists. I am the production manager for the annual Columbus Food Truck Fest which has been seeing growth and success with every year we've had the festival. I'm the Guitarist for the band, Ever Burning Bright, which has been achieving regional success this year as we’ve completed a midwest tour, debuted on the rock-billboard charts, opened for nationally acclaimed artists and performed multiple festival dates. I'm currently working on launching a show-trading app called Flock for bands to easily connect and show swap with artists from other markets and demographics, which will begin launching in Columbus, Nashville, Texas and Chicago.
Groove U gave me the opportunities I needed to get my foot in the door of the music industry and encouraged the discipline and self-motivation necessary to take advantage of those opportunities. They don't just sit you down in lectures and tell you how to run a show, but they actually put you in the role of a promoter or stage manager and give you the guidance on how to handle it. The hands on experience is vital for building the resume and connections you will need to succeed in the industry.
